What Our Church Family Looks Like

In nearly 9 years of existing as Harvest Glasgow we have used many images to try and communicate what we do, what we believe, what we are inviting people to join in with and that kind of thing. Our most recent sermon graphic has probably been my favourite.

It has not been my favourite because...

It has been the image we have been using amongst the excitement of our new building.

It has been the image that has served as the backdrop in front of which I have preached to the most people ever hosted by Harvest Glasgow.

It HAS been my favourite because...

When I look at it it reminds me of the amazing thing that God has done in bringing all the people in the photographs (and more on top of them) together into our church family.

When I look at it I see how all the variety of gifts and life experience and background and culture and age and so much more is contributing to our sense of being God's family.

When I look at it I see people whose lives are being transformed by faith in Jesus and the peace and hope that comes from security in Him.

When I look at it I see something that I want to invite people to come and be part of and, more, point people to and ask them to be part of what God is doing at Harvest Glasgow.

When I came up with the title for this series 'Welcome Home'...

When I thought that we would start out life in our new building looking at what it means to be part of God's family....

As we have spent time thinking in the first few weeks about Family Traits and Family Values and as we prepare to look at Family Activities...

It has never been with more of a sense of longing for so many more people to come and feel welcome and be part of our church family. We want you to find a church home and we would love you to feel at home with our church family.
